What Is MLM?

If you're Googling " What is MLM ?", someone you know has probably asked you to buy something that they're crazy about and that they think "everyone" should buy.
They may have asked you to join the company, too, so that you can buy it at a lower cost.

This is NOT a scam or an illegal "pyramid scheme". It's a perfectly legal, legitimate business proposition that may or may not be right for you.

Donald Trump, Warren Buffett, and Robert Kiyosaki (author of Rich Dad Poor Dad) don't ask " What is MLM ?".
They all recently endorsed MLM and/or bought/created MLM companies... more on that later.
My point is, these men know that MLM is a legitimate work from home business opportunity.

Before you watch a short video that wonderfully answers the questions
" what is MLM " and " what is network marketing "...
first of all, they’re exactly the same thing, but the different names emphasize different aspects of what they are.

A network marketing company markets its products through its distributors, who find their customers by networking with people. This serves as free advertising for the company... a cost savings that the company passes back to its distributors as commissions and bonuses.
Network marketing distributors also use networking to interest others in becoming new distributors.
That's "what is network marketing".

A distributor gets paid on commission for the products that she sells... and also for the products that are sold by newer distributors that she has brought into the business... and newer distributors that they have brought into the business... multiple levels of income.
That's " what is MLM (multi level marketing)".

This differs from pure Direct Selling companies, in which the representatives buy products and sell them at a profit, period. A well known example of non-MLM direct selling is Mary Kay products.
Examples of multi level marketing companies are Xango, Monavie, Mannatech, Xocai, Yoli, and Shaklee, to name just a few.

Just about the best MLM trainer that I know, Tim Sales, has created a great short video that explains " what is MLM ". This movie even excites experienced network marketers, because it includes information that not all network marketers are aware of.
In fact, Tim does such a fantastic job in this video of explaining " what is MLM " that I’ll stop trying to describe it and let him do the talking!

As you can see from the video, MLM is a legitimate work from home business... an exciting, serious, and increasingly popular business model, taught at the university level! (but university not required or needed to succeed.)

For Robert Kiyosaki (author of the long-running best-selling book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”) and Donald Trump network marketing is prestigious enough that they both recently endorsed network marketing in an article in Success Magazine.

Warren Buffet (almost the richest American) recently bought a network marketing company. He knows " what is network marketing ". And need I say that he knows how to invest? What better endorsement for network marketing success ? Obviously, successful network marketers are doing a great job of moving many high-quality products through the marketplace to satisfied, repeat-customers.

So, what is MLM ?
As also explained in the video, network marketing today
can be one or more of these:

• a way to make extra money part time
• a way to make money at home
• full time or part time work from home
• stay at home moms
• work at home dads
• a way to make money from home online
• a way to END: bullying at work, worrying about job interview attire, receiving a pink slip, mid life crisis

• one of the best passive income opportunities
• how to become rich
• one of the steps to become a millionaire for thousands of Americans on today's millionaires list
• one of the cheapest ways to become a millionaire today
• planning for retirement
• early retirement planning
• financial freedom
• more family time
• a way to help others to find the same benefits
• the source of many a millionaire philanthropist
