Network Marketing Leads (prospects) are like gold... well, more like the paths that lead to a pot of gold.

MLM Lead Generation is approached in many different ways. Some work well for some network marketers, and others work well for others.

In general, your MLM Leads List will include MLM prospects that you find in many different ways.

One kind of unique method is to arrange product-selling fundraisers with your network marketing product... if it's appropriate for that. A successful fundraiser can turn into a great source of MLM leads after you've helped the group to raise a lot of money selling your product to happy customers.

Some prospects will actually find you... this is the cream of the crop that every network marketer tries to find a way to attract. In fact, “attraction marketing” is a concept that started exploding in recent years, with dozens of gurus promoting their ideas about the best approach. There are reputable MLM trainers teaching attraction marketing, but the number of people competing for your attention and your money in order to help you to “ get rich quick ” with their attraction marketing system is truly overwhelming... actually frightening. It can be so overwhelming that you want to give up... maybe after paying for a few “auto-pilot”-type software packages... finally realizing that no one is really going to hand it to you on a platter, and that there is a lot of work involved in those autopilot systems, AND that you don't even understand how to DO some of that work.

Traditional “old-fashioned” MLM lead generation methods basically involve approaching people that you do not know, who have not first approached you. This is called your "cold market". It works wonderfully for many distributors, but not for most.
At least one of these traditional approaches works very well, though, for almost all distributors sometimes, so do yourself a favor and at least be familiar with all of them. You never know for sure which method will work for which MLM prospect.

A slightly more advanced form of traditional network marketing prospecting is to buy MLM leads.
Many businesses put together names... and addresses and/or phone numbers and/or email addresses... in order to sell them to MLM distributors as network marketing leads. In general, they have a very bad reputation, but it is possible to find good ones.
