Hello, again!
Who is Karen Harris?
That would be me... Karen Harris, a physician (pathologist), online network marketer, and a finder and sharer of MLM Angels.
I live in Clearwater, Florida with my husband, Kurt, and our 7 year-old Bengal housecat, Bengie.
After 27 years together (over half of my life!), and after moving 12 times, back and forth between 3 states, 1100 miles apart (PA/NJ and FL), we finally bought our dream house (our FIRST house) here several years ago. We had always rented, because our medical education, training and early jobs were never permanent enough to be sure that a house would be a smart investment. Needless to say, we NEVER plan to move again!
Actually, I shocked a few contractors in our house during our hurricane preparedness renovations in the past few years by saying "We're going to die in this house!" When they looked at me in horror, I had to explain that that's a GOOD thing, because I simply meant that we're never going to move again.My husband, Kurt, is also a physician (internal medicine)... as well as a successful local musician, after earning an associate degree in music from Jeff Berlin's Player's School of Music, here in Clearwater. He plays bass guitar more hours of the day (and night!) than he works in his part-time medical practice. Here's an example of synchronicity (a meaningful coincidence):
Kurt had know about the Player's School of Music for years, because he plays bass guitar, and Jeff Berlin is an internationally renowned jazz bass guitar player. Well, we moved to Clearwater because of my job, but then realized that the Player's School is a 5-10 minute drive from our house! Kurt changed his work schedule to part-time, so he could attend the music school part-time. We are both compulsive and conscientious in our medical professional lives, but we want to spend as much time as we can at home and in our other interests. I actually love sitting at a microscope, looking at cervical, endometrial and other biopsies... and I actually have a wonderful boss and work with fantastic colleagues, but....
despite being a very rewarding profession, on a day-to-day basis
it's a job
... with all the same sorts of frustrations as your job, especially the one-job-one-paycheck part of it.

... doesn't matter what your salary is! There are SO many other things that I like to spend my 24 hours doing than commuting to and from and being at my job.
So I'm transitioning to early retirement from medicine by way of my network marketing and internet marketing businesses. Yes, I realize that our two-physician household with one cat and no children has "enough" money, but... - Who doesn't overspend, regardless of income level, or simply want more?
- What happens if Kurt or Karen Harris gets sick, disabled, or laid-off? (we're both employees... we don't run our own practices.)
- And who CAN'T find a good use for more money?
- early retirement
- charitable donations
- household renovations/repairs/maintenance
- travel?
My list is actually much longer than that! I'm sure yours is, too, if you're a human being on planet Earth in the 21st century!Karen Harris turned 50 recently. Her body started to tell her that that significant number was coming about 3 years ago, though... really not fair, since I would never have thought that so many things could happen to a 47 year-old, who looks healthy, that could make her feel like she's getting old.
Okay, enough of the third-person stuff... it's ME who's aging... can't escape it. Actually, aging is better than the alternative!
Believe it or not, my job is physically stressful... because it keeps me inactive, sedentary, uses very few, but repetitive, small muscle movements, and leaves little time in the day for exercise and the other care that an aging body needs more and more of every day.
Karen Harris WILL NOT be in that chair for 8 hours a day... AND on the road commuting for another 2 hours a day... until age 65! I enjoy landscaping, gardening (organic food and landscape plants), inventing healthy ice cream recipes, birding (birdwatching hikes with the Audubon Society), matting and framing our photography to hang on our walls, and classical choral singing with the Tampa Oratorio Singers.
We both love the heat and humidity (and the other seasons, too... yes, we DO have seasons in Florida), the water, scuba diving, bicycling, hiking. And we plan to start kayaking soon... got the bug while vacationing in Islamorada in the Florida Keys. It's my next project after building this website!

My vision is to have the online work of Karen Harris become a household word... but not because I have a big ego and want a lot of attention. Karen Harris would actually rather be in the background than on-stage, enjoying private time.
I have this vision because of my passion for helping "miracles" happen for as many people as possible by releasing them from the prison that we're all taught is the way we're "supposed to" live and work... one person/ one job/ one paycheck... for an entire lifetime. All it takes to create financial freedom is a change of thinking. The mind is very powerful. The abundance of the universe is there for those of us who learn how to make it ours. Pay attention. Keep your eyes and ears open. Trust your instincts.
